RC300 Series Flexible Frame Rail

The RC 300 series flexible steel frame rail shelter provides a weather protected enclosure between the rail car and dock door. In the extended position, spring tension holds the shelter firmly against the rail car for safe loading and unloading. A foam cube on the leading edge of the steel frame seals against the rail car to ensure product protection, personnel safety, and reduced energy loss.

The unit can then be retracted against the building, out of the way. This three-sided frame/three-sided cover RC 300 series offers simple, one-person operation with its spring-tensioned upper frame assembly. Also available in 4 sided frame – 3 sided cover and 4 sided frame – 4 sided cover models to fit all your rail dock needs.

DESIGN STANDARDS:

• Standard unit is 11’4” wide x 11’ high x 48” projection with 36” curtain drop for 10’W x 10’H opening
• Head curtain is split with rubber tie straps
• Side curtains have a foam cube on leading edge to seal against rail car and tie back straps with velcro
• Galvanized steel track and steel pipe framing with trolleys mounted to double kiln dried pressure treated lumber frame
• 22 oz. vinyl base fabric
• Units available up to 16’-4” wide x 16’-0” high and up to 72” projections
• 4 sided unit with 3 sided frame is an RC301 series and 4 sided unit with 4 sided frame is an RC302 series

RC300 Series Flexible Frame Rail Features:

• Side frame of 2x8 and head frame of 2x6 double kiln dried pressure treated lumber
• Top and bottom frame crossbars plus top and bottom arms are 1 5/16” O.D. steel pipe framing
• Head curtain standard is 36” drop with split up to within 6” of top – includes rubber tie straps
• Base fabric is 22 oz. vinyl for entire rail cover
• Side frames held in place against building with tie back straps with Velcro
• Rail shelter width is typically 1’-4” wider than door opening
• Rail shelter top is typically 15’-0” to 15’-6” off top of rail (can be higher in given application)
• Full unimpeded access to inside of rail car
• Standard is 3 sided frame with 3 sided cover – 4 sided frame/3 sided cover and 4 sided frame/4 sided cover also available
